Studio Statement
This artwork is the second of a three work series titled “Ubuntu”. Ubuntu is a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity. Africa so far has been torn between internal unrest, tribal hate within kinsmen while seeking external validation from races that have no care about her. It seeks to reveal the possibilities that are at her disposal only if she is willing to align her heart with her mind; and to bring our awareness to what needs to be done to progress. The female subject is young and is symbolic to the “mother” referencing of Africa as “Mother Africa”.

This art seeks to expound on the next stage of Africa evolution oost colonial era where Africa is beginning to take back her place; finding her way back to her heritage. It reveals the stage where Africans are ready for “The Quest”
