UBUNTU III LIMITED PRINT SERIES

Studio Statement
This artwork is the third and last of a three work series titled “Ubuntu”. Ubuntu is a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity. Africa so far has been torn between internal unrest, tribal hate within kinsmen while seeking external validation from races that have no care about her. It seeks to reveal the future whenever she has finally found peace within herself and her eyes are finally closed to what burns her awareness; she now looks inwards to find that she has been enough and needed no other to be her true self. The female subject is young and is symbolic to the “mother” referencing of Africa as “Mother Africa”.

This art is a testament to the what is undoubtedly possible once Africa has been freed from the shackles of her tormented self; she has found that she is the way. It reveals the stage where Africans are are self sufficient and have achieved their “Triumph”
